Elisabeth Pfaff, 90 of Sherman, CT, suddenly passed away on October 26, 2018. Elisabeth was born on March 2, 1928 in Husum, Germany. She is predeceased by her husband, Werner, her parents, Frederick and Merry Bansee and her brother, Jochim Bansee.
Elisabeth grew up in Husum, Germany where she graduated from high school. She came to this country through sponsorship of her uncle in 1951. When she arrived she could not speak a word of English and went to evening school to learn the English language. She first worked as a governess and later in a German bakery in Queens. She met her husband, Werner through her uncle in New York. Elisabeth became a citizen of this country and was proud to be an American. On April 8, 1954, Elisabeth married her husband, Werner on the NBC television show, Bride and Groom. In 1956, Elisabeth and Werner started spending weekends building their present house in Sherman. Elisabeth and her family lived in Ridgewood, Queens until 1969 when the family moved to Sherman. Elisabeth loved dancing and going on cruises with her husband. Elisabeth was a member of the Sherman Senior Center and she enjoyed going to there with Werner for their birthday parties and special events.
For the past 63 years, she was the wife of the late Werner Pfaff, the love of her life. Elisabeth is survived by her son, Gary Pfaff and his partner, Channon Elzea, her daughter, Loraine Seder and husband, Edward Seder. Also, she is survived by her 3 grandchildren, Kenneth Seder and his wife, Kristalynn, Jennifer Cundiff and her husband, Rev. Joel Cundiff and her granddaughter, Elisabeth L. Pfaff. Elisabeth is survived by her sister, Gertrude Greco of Zephyrhills, Florida and her nephew, Gregory Greco, her brother, Fred Bansee and his wife Hannelore, her sister-in-law Karin Bansee and her son, Michael Bansee and his wife Claudia.

The family will receive friends at Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT, on Monday, Oct. 29 from 4-7pm. Funeral services will be at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, New Fairfield, CT, on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 11 am. Interment will follow at Coburn Cemetery, Sherman.
