Marjorie (Pennie) Kreuscher

Of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida passed away on September 19, 2017 at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center Hospice Unit.  Pennie, a resident of Devonshire’s Continuing Care Retirement Community at PGA National, was 94 and had suffered from Parkinson’s disease for many years.  Pennie, a devoted Catholic, grew up on Long Island, New York, attended the Convent of the Sacred Heart, 91st St, NY High School, Manhattanville and Finch Colleges.  She worked for Gibbs & Cox before marriage to Fred Kreuscher in 1947 (70 years ago).  After her five children were grown, she was a Million Dollar agent at William B. May Real Estate in Irvington, Westchester County, NY.  Upon retirement in 1988, she and her husband snow birded for 30 years in Highland Beach, FL and their home at Lake Waramaug, Warren, CT.  She and Fred were members of the Lake Waramaug Club for 50 years, active in administration, golf, tennis and the clubs many theatrical ventures. They traveled the world.  Her youngest son, Philip, died in 1982.  Fred, Alan, Douglas, Ann and her husband were with her at her death.  She is survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  Pennie will be remembered with great love and affection as a wonderful wife and mother.  A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 24th from 4-7PM at the Howard-Quattlebaum Funeral and Event Center 754 US Highway 1, North Palm Beach.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the chapel of the Cathedral of St. Ignatius Loyola, 9999 North Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations in Pennie’s name to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 E Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407 or to Convent of the Sacred Heart, 1 East 91st Street, New York, NY 10128. The interment will take place at St. Bridget’s Cemetery in Cornwall, CT, on Thursday September 28, 2017 at 10:00 am.
