Carroll, Edna M.

Edna M. Carroll (Nana) was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Edna passed in New Milford, CT, on Wednesday July 26, 2017 at the age of 93 with her loving family by her side. Edna grew up in Queens, NY with her parents Joseph and Anna (Pesik) Kubik, later moving to Connecticut where she would meet and fall in love with her (late) husband Harry Carroll at The Lee’s Hat Company Christmas Party, where Harry strategically stole her ‘roast beef dinner card’ to catch her attention, consequently beginning a budding romance.

They married shortly after and raised four children, the late Dennis Carroll, Susan Hallman, Tina Toussaint and Denise Bobbie. The Carrolls lovingly opened their home to several foster children throughout the years raising their family in Bethel, beside the beloved Blue Jay Orchards.

Edna was highly involved in theatre acting and singing, her first stint at theatre began in Bethel at the The Carosel Players continuing on to perform many years at the Brookfield Playhouse. Once retired Harry and Edna moved to Florida to enjoy the warm sun and ocean views. Six years ago Edna permanently moved into the home of Tina and Rene Toussaint to be closer to family and receive their support.

Nana will be truly missed by her family, Susan and Ed Hallman, Tina and Rene Toussaint, Denise Bobbie and Rick Steiger, Sharon Carroll, and her grandchildren, Danielle and Joseph Toussaint, Lily Deering, Jeffery and Brian Carroll.

The family is grateful for the love and support of New Milford VNA Hospice and Village Crest Rehabilitation Facility during Edna’s last months on Earth. Edna’s calling hours will be Monday August 7th from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm at Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT. Interment will be private.
