Waldron, Gordon D.

Gordon David Waldron, a lifelong New Milford, CT, resident, died unexpectedly at home on Tuesday July 18, 2017 at the age of 86.
Gordon was born October 27, 1930 in New Milford son of the late Everett and Edith (Chapin) Waldron. He graduated New Milford High School in 1948. On February 12, 1950 he married Elizabeth M. Dutcher in
New Milford, CT. Gordon also graduated valedictorian from the American Academy of Mortuary Science in New York City and has been an active licensed funeral director for over 60 years working for Peelen and Planz Funeral Home in New Milford and in more recent years the Lillis Funeral Home in New Milford. He was the founder and owner of Waldron Monument Co. in New Milford and was the Superintendent of the New Milford Center Cemetery for over 40 years. He also worked as a Real Estate Broker for DeVoe Realty and Settlers & Traders. He was always active in the community, serving as a member for over 50 years of the Water Witch Hose Co., St. Peters Lodge and the New Milford Lions Club. Professionally he was a member of the CT Funeral Directors Assoc. and the New England and CT Cemetery Assoc.
Gordon is survived by his wife Elizabeth Waldron of New Milford, CT, daughter Jill W. Clonaris of New Milford, CT, sister Carolyn Schanze of New Milford, CT, granddaughters Katy Clonaris of New Milford, CT and Betsy Malpica of Cape Coral, FL, and two great grandchildren Zachary and Joshua Malpica. He was predeceased by his two brothers John and Charles Waldron and his sister Doris Miller.
Funeral services will be private. Arrangements by the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT.
