Kessler, Murray J.

Murray J. Kessler of Danbury, CT, passed away Friday February 24, 2017 in Danbury at the age of 75.

He was born April 17, 1941 in Bronx, NY, son of the late Harry and Beatrice (Klein) Kessler. He graduated from Bronx High School of Science in 1958 then received a B.S. in Engineering from Clarkson College in Potsdam, NY and then his Law degree from UConn in 1976.On February 9, 1963 Mr. Kessler married Eileen M. Toner in Ogdensburg, NY. They lived in Danbury then moved to New Milford in 1965 where Mr. Kessler practiced Law for forty years. He was very involved in the New Milford community all his life. He was past president of the New Milford Democratic Town committee, past president of Temple Sholom in New Milford and he was a board member of Lake Waubeeka in Danbury, CT, just to name a few.

Besides his wife Eileen Mr. Kessler is survived by his son Jonathan Kessler and his husband Kurt Hoogstraat of Chicago, IL, his daughter Barbara Kessler of Danbury, CT, a sister Elena Matteson and her husband Edwin of Syracuse, NY, his granddaughter Shawayma Kessler Hoogstraat and great grandchildren Beatrice & Kaleb.

A funeral service will be held on Monday February 27, 2017 at Temple Sholom in New Milford, CT, at 1:00pm followed by the interment in Center Cemetery in New Milford, CT.
