Frank N. Marici M.D. of New Milford, CT, passed away Monday January 9, 2017 at New Milford Hospital at the age of 86.
He was born June 16, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Anthony and Concetta (Guifre) Marici. In 1948 he graduated from the New York Military Academy and in 1957 graduated from the University of Padova Medical School, Italy. Frank and Thelma “Teddi” Gould were married on November 21, 1964 at St. Mary’s Church. He was Director of Pulmonary Medicine at St Francis Hospital , New York until his retirement in 2004. In the 1960’s he invented, lectured and taught about the use and advantages of the Marici Flexible Fiberoptic Bronchoscope.
Frank and Teddi moved to New Milford CT in 2004 to be closer to family. Dr. Marici is survived by his wife of 52 years, his son Christopher and his wife Doris of Lake Ariel, PA his brother Dr. Edward Marici and spouse of New Milford, and many nieces and nephews; one of them being his physician Dr. Kenneth Marici of New Milford.
Calling hours will be held at Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford CT, From 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm Friday January 13, 2017.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Church in Sherman, CT on Saturday January 14th 2017 at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Center Cemetery in New Milford CT.
