Scribner, Alan W.

Alan W. Scribner of New Milford, CT, passed away Friday December 30, 2016 in New Milford at the age of 62.

Alan was born in New Milford February 22, 1954, son of the late Harold and Madeline (Taylor) Scribner.  He attended New Milford Schools and had lived in Warren, CT, for five years before returning to New Milford. Alan was a master machinist and worked at Gordon Engineering in Brookfield, CT for the past eight years. He was a co-founder and past member of the Young Republicans in New Milford, CT. Alan was skilled at repairing almost anything put in front of him. He was an avid gardener who loved working his garden and sharing his vegetables with friends and neighbors. Alan was a longtime Red Sox fan.

Alan is survived by his son, Jason A. Scribner of Durham, CT, his sister Sue Scribner of Danbury, CT, his brothers  Ronald and wife Joy, Gary and wife Chrissie, Wayne  and fiancée Barbara,  all of New Milford,  niece Rhonda McLaughlin and husband Mike of North Port, FL and nephews Ricky Scribner and Nick Scribner of New Milford.

Special thanks to the staff at New Milford Hospital and the Diebold Family Cancer Center who showed much love along with their special care of Alan during this difficult time.

Calling hours will be held on Friday January 6, 2017 from 4:00pm to 6:30pm with a service at 6:30pm at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT. Interment will take place at a later date.
