Sheena R. Marchand of New Milford, CT, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday August 1, 2016 at the age of 85. She was born April 21, 1931 in Greenwich, CT, daughter of the late Robert and Christine (Paterson) Mair. In December of 1950 she married Leroy V. Marchand in Greenwich, CT. Leroy (Corky) predeceased her on October 7, 1996. They lived in Stamford, CT from 1969 – 1993, then moved to Southbury, CT, where she lived for 22 yrs. before moving to New Milford on May 15, 2016. She worked as a nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Stamford for 15 years before retiring. She retired for the winter months to Ellenton, Florida and enjoyed working as a Volunteer at Manatee Hospital. In the summer months she would return to Heritage Village. She enjoyed joining in many different groups, Stitch and Chat, KnitWits, Stain Glass and various other groups. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She displayed many of her works in many fairs which won many ribbons. She loved gardening, going on trips with Heritage Village and attending shows. She was also an avid Mahjong card player and enjoyed teaching her great-grandson how to play any card game.
Mrs. Marchand is survived by her son Robert Marchand of South Kingstown, RI, her daughters Denise Hayes of New Milford, CT and Vicki Marchand of Bensalem, PA. She enjoyed her nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
