Dr. Lawrence B. Stillman of New Milford, CT, died March 8, 2016 at Regional Hospice in Danbury, CT, with his family at his side at the age of 77.
He was born in Huntington Station, NY, on May 14, 1938 son of the late Julius and Sarah (Rosen) Stillman. He graduated from Simpson High School in Huntington, NY, then attended Hofstra for his pre Med. And graduated in 1962 from the M.J.Lewis College of Podiatry. On June 25, 1961 he married Fredricka Goldstein and after he graduated in 1962 they moved to New Milford, CT where he opened his Podiatry office, Lawrence B. Stillman DPM, until he retired in 2001. Dr. Stillman was past president of Temple Shalom in New Milford, past president of the New Milford Rotary Club, past president of the Connecticut Podiatry Board, he served on the New Milford Board of Education, the New Milford Democratic Committee and in 2007 he ran for Mayor of New Milford, he was a history buff he loved classic music, traveling especially to Aruba, he loved old cars, his four Jack Russell Terriers and most of all he loved his family and home.
Besides his wife Freddie he is survived by his sons Brian Stillman of New Milford, CT, Samuel Stillman and his wife Joyce of Thomaston, CT, Stephen Stillman of New Milford, CT, a daughter Ann Simon and her husband David of Norwood, NJ and his grandchildren Alexandra and Jacob Simon. He was predeceased by his brother Paul Stillman. Arrangements by the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT.
