John T. Knepper of Southbury, CT, past away Monday February 8, 2016 in Danbury, CT, at the age of 89.
He was born January 15, 1927 in Sioux City, NE, son of the late Montford and Gertrude (Darton) Knepper. After graduating from the Kings point Merchant Marine Academy he served with the Navy on the U.S.S. Colahan during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. Mr. Knepper was an Engineer and worked for Exxon Mobile in Texas, Idaho and in New York City. Mr. Knepper was a volunteer at the VNA in New Milford and hospice Volunteer President and Vice President. In 1999 he married Ellen Wedick in Sherman, CT.
Besides his wife Ellen of Southbury, CT, he is survived by his daughters Dian Eng and her husband Peter of New Milford, CT, Christine Wolff and her husband Bert of Millwood, NY, his grandchildren Steven and Michael Eng and Paige and Marisa Wolff.
He was predeceased by his first wife Jimille Simmons in 1997 and a brother Bill Knepper.
Calling hours will be held Saturday February 13, 2016 from 1 to 4pm at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT. Internment will take place at the convenience of the family.
