Cheney, Gerald

Gerald F. Cheney Sr. of Washington Depot, CT, died Wednesday September 30, 2015 in Danbury Hospital at the age of 85.

He was born in Washington Depot on January 30, 1930 son of the late Josiah and Josephine (Corless) Cheney. He served in the Navy on the USS Vulcan from 1948 to 1952. In 1956 he married Madeline Howard in New Milford, CT. Mr. Cheney was a Mechanic and had worked for Lee Motor sales in New Milford, CT, then at the Town of Washington Highway Department before working at the New Milford Highway Department and retiring in 1995. He was also a member of (NEAR) New England Antique Racers.

Mr. Cheney is survived by his wife Madeline of Washington Depot, his sons Gerald Cheney Jr. and his wife Muoy of New Milford, CT, Josiah Cheney and his wife Cynthia of Campobello, SC, his daughters Patricia Dwy and her husband Donald of Bridgewater, CT, Caroline Ramsay and her husband Jeff of Watertown, CT, grandchildren Katherine, Sarah and Heather and his niece Maureen Natale of Newtown, CT.

All funeral services are private at the request of the family.
